About the Crazy Comic Club

The Crazy Comic Club began in 2003. As part of the promotional duties for my published books, I gave talks and held adult education workshops at The Crossing Border Arts Festival in The Hague, The Scottish Global Awareness Conference, The Scottish Radical Book Fair, and at various galleries and events across the UK.

In 2006 a major funded opportunity in the deprived Whitehawk area of Brighton was completed, creating a full colour cartoon cookery book, developing children's artistic skills and encouraging them to eat healthier foods.
The Crazy Comic Club is a regular visitor at arts and music festivals across England, including Glastonbury Festival, Cardiff Children's Festival, Shambala, Small World, Summer Sundae, Wychwood, Big Session, The Green Man, Secret Garden Party and many more.
I am currently working with Mac's Place, a young people's advice and information centre based at Falmer High School. We are creating comics raising awareness of issues that affect teenagers such as sexual health, drug and alcohol abuse, bullying and domestic violence.
I've run BBC Blast workshops with teenagers, and BBC RaW workshops promoting adult literacy through comic workshops across East England. Recently I also created a giant 120 metre long comic strip with local residents in central Brighton as part of Car Free Day.
The Crazy Comic Club After School Clubs in Brighton have become extremely popular over the last year. If you would like to find out more about the after school clubs, or starting a Crazy Comic Club after school club in your school or community space, please email me at info@crazycomicclub.co.uk
