About James Parsons

I continue to work freelance for various magazines, and still self-publish my work in comic books which are available at art galleries, independent record shops and bookshops across the country.
A Brief History of Bestselling Cartoonist James Parsons
After graduating from Sussex University with a degree in English Literature, I self-published my first satirical comic, This is Me by George Bush in October 2001. It proved very popular, and was accompanied by an equally successful animated website.
Before long I was lucky enough to have two mainstream, bestselling humorous books published by Simon and Schuster. I have since sold over 80,000 copies of my books and comics around the world.
My work has been translated into Dutch, French and Spanish, and sold in 35 countries.
I have completed major cartooning commissions for Greenpeace, The National Union Of Students, Don't Panic!, the BBC and various record labels. Cartoons and illustrations have appeared in dozens of publications: Dazed and Confused, The Daily Mirror, Independent on Sunday, The Observer, Les Inrockuptibles, Bizarre, Bulb, The Face, Maxim, Arena, The New Statesman, Zero Tolerance, Rock Sound, The Source, Varroom, La Vanguardia, El Pais and many more European broadsheets and national magazines.
Some reviews of my work:
"A fascinating insight into the presidential psyche… A simple, highly effective and also very funny visual satirical masterpiece" The Independent
"Genuinely topical and very amusing… Full of malicious joy. The book is deeply politically incorrect on one level, but so very correct on others" The Observer
"Book of the year" Bizarre Magazine
